Meet the Directors

Berkshire Hills’ team of four experienced directors ensure that your child will have a safe, fun and meaningful experience at camp.

Jenn Carbone, Director

Jenn Carbone – Director at Berkshire Hills

Jenn grew up at Berkshire Hills. Her love for camp began when she was just 5 years old. She rose through the units as a camper and eventually grew to become a staff member. Jenn spent multiple summers as a Unit Head but has also led our staff training efforts and oversaw the launch of the cooking center. She is a graduate of Iona College where she received her degree in Childhood Education and she has also done coursework on Camp Administration and Leadership.

Jenn’s primary focus is camper care. She hires and trains all of our bunk staff and unit heads and supports the day-to-day needs of campers and families. She’s excited to continue to nurture and grow our Berkshire Hills community and help instill our values into the lives of every camper and staff member.

Seth Gutkin, Director

Seth Gutkin – Director at Berkshire Hills

Seth worked for seven years at camps in Maine, Canada, and England before he joined Berkshire Hills in 2012. Although Seth was never a camper, he fell in love with it during his first camp experience as a counselor and boating instructor.

Seth runs the back of the house at camp supervising maintenance, housekeeping, waterfront, and logistics. He manages all the support staff at camp. He is also in charge of our robust pre- and post-season retreat program.

Seth is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and has his Master of Education from Niagara University. He is a certified teacher for New York State and currently lives in Westchester with his wife Eve, sons Jesse and Matthew, and daughter Margot. As always, he can’t wait to get back to camp for another successful summer.

Adam Weinstein, Director

Adam Weinstein – Director at Berkshire Hills

Adam joined Berkshire Hills Eisenberg Camp in 2012 after seven years as the Executive Director of the American Camp Association, New York and New Jersey; the accrediting body for camps. Adam’s work with hundreds of camps throughout the region gives him an incredible perspective. Adam grew up in not-for-profit values-based camping and is excited to be leading a vibrant values-oriented camp with a rich history like Berkshire Hills. Adam believes that all children can learn from the Jewish values that are the core of the Berkshire Hills program and is committed to making Berkshire Hills a welcoming place for children of all faiths and backgrounds.

During the summer, Adam focuses on parent communication, behavior support, and healthcare management. During the rest of the year he works on staff recruitment, fundraising and strategic planning along with our camp board.

Adam attended Yale College and Columbia Law School. He spent ten happy years representing low-income tenants in New York City before returning to the world of camp. Adam lives in Westchester with his husband Rodrick, daughter Ruthie, son Alexander, dog Dolly and cat Lady.

Zach Weisbrot, Director

Zach Weisbrot – Director at Berkshire Hills

Zach joined the Berkshire Hills family in 2018 and has been here ever since. Zach fell in love with overnight camp the first time he laid eyes on a camp. He believes the best summers of his life were spent as a camper, and that camp offers essential values, friendships, and life skills that make camp such a special place.

At Berkshire Hills, Zach oversees all things fun. He runs the daily schedule, evening activities, color war, trips, overnights, lake activities, and brings in visiting instructors to keep camp exciting and fresh. He also helps train staff and supports bunk life—ensuring every camper has a safe, engaging, and meaningful summer.

A graduate of the University of Delaware, Zach has spent years working in child development. He has coached several sports and served as a Delegation Head for the JCC Maccabi Games. When he’s not at camp, Zach enjoys watching and playing sports. He’s excited for another incredible summer at Berkshire Hills!
