A Day at Berkshire Hills

Each day is designed to give your child time to grow individually and as a member of our camp community.

Morning Cabin Activities

soccer-girls-groupMornings at Berkshire Hills focus on building the cabin group. Each cabin will spend the morning enjoying a diverse selection of activities, intentionally selected and designed to build friendships, bring the group closer together, and help campers take healthy and developmentally appropriate risks. Campers will also take swim lessons during this time as a cabin group.

Afternoon Electives

basketball-boysBerkshire Hills afternoon electives give your child the opportunity to practice their independence by choosing two activities which interest them almost every afternoon. Your child can build a skill over time by participating in the same activity every day or could change it up daily, trying various activities camp has to offer. Our qualified instructors will help your child learn a new skill or build on a skill in an activity they already enjoy. Whether your child chooses drama, cooking, basketball, ropes course, boating, arts and crafts, floor hockey, Mahjong, guitar or any one of our other dozens of activities, our staff will teach your child the activity while also promoting the ideas that you should follow your passions in life and practice will lead to improvement over time in anything they do.

Evenings at Camp

The fun never stops at camp. Evenings are a mix of cabin, unit and all camp programming. Singing by a campfire and making smores, playing Capture the Flag, watching a Camp Show or a camp wide scavenger hunt are just a few activities your child might enjoy after dinner.

Trips and Special Events

Traveling with friends from camp cannot be beat. Every month we take two trips to Berkshire attractions like water parks, hiking trails or amusement parks. Second Session Junior Unit Campers go on a two day trip, and Senior Unit Campers take a five day trip. Destinations have included Lake George, Boston, Cape Cod, and Toronto. Campers also leave camp for inter-camp athletic tournaments and community service projects.

Color War is our longest special event spanning three days of arts, sports and song. Independence Day is a yearly all camp celebration with inflatables, a camp-wide barbeque and carnival. Past camp-wide activities include a game show, a concert, an outdoor movie with an inflatable screen, laser tag and a luau.
