Labor Day LGBTQ Family Camp

A Weekend of Community and Fun at Berkshire Hills

Berkshire Hills is a values based Jewish camp that is welcoming to everybody. We are proud to host our third LGBTQ Family Camp this Labor Day weekend. From Friday August 31st to Monday September 3rd, Berkshire Hills will come alive with all types of LGBTQ families. LGBTQ parents with children, families with gender fluid children and their allies are all welcome to come and enjoy our beautiful 640 acre site.

img_9995Whether you want to sit by the pool, zipline across the lake, hike, learn archery, bake cookies, canoe, scale the climbing wall, slide down the lake inflatables, discuss LGBTQ issues, attend a Shabbat service, volunteer for a Tikkun Olam Community Service project, shoot an arrow, or sing by the campfire, we guarantee you will enjoy your day. All activities are optional, and there will be time to enjoy activities with and without your children.

Children age seven and up can sleep in their parents’ rooms or sleep in supervised bunks with other children. The bunks were a huge hit last summer with children making strong connections with each other and parents relaxing as the Berkshire Hills staff put their children to bed and got them up and brought them to breakfast all ready for the day’s fun.

Berkshire Hills LGBQT Family Camp is funded with generous support from the UJA Federation of New York and endorsed by Keshet, a national organization that works for full equality and inclusion of LGBTQ Jews. Berkshire Hills Director Adam Weinstein will lead the Family Camp, and his husband Rodrick and two children are excited to join the fun along with all the great families who joined us last summer.
