Community Service – Tikkun Olam

community-service-01Tikkun Olam, the concept of repairing the world through community service, is an important element of the Berkshire Hills’ experience. Every Saturday morning all campers and staff take part in fun, age appropriate community service projects. This past summer community service projects included card writing, jewelry making, gardening, trail clearing and participating in activities with the Senior Citizens in our Senior Program. Campers also went off site to help maintain Taconic State Park and assist special needs campers at Camp Anne down the road.

community-service-02Older Campers can apply to take part in Berkshire Hill’s Tikkun Olam Fellows Program. Tikkun Olam Fellows spend one period each day working together on community service projects and discussing issues surrounding community service.

The Tikkun Olam Fellows Program is sponsored through the generous support of the UJA Federation of New York.
